AS GOOD AS NICK GETS was raised in Post, Texas being owned by famed barrel horse trainer Dena Kirkpatrick and breeder Susie Davidoff. AS GOOD AS NICK GETS was trained by Dena and was a Barrel Futurity Finalist at Cowboy Times Futurity, Lazy E Barrel Futurity, and World Champion Barrel Futurity Oklahoma City.
I bought DJ Nick Bar and loved everything about him. After owning DJ just a few months I realized I wanted his full brother which happened to be AS GOOD AS NICK GETS. I purchased Nick from Dena and Susie in 2006. My intentions were to rodeo off of Nick, and we won the first one we entered; however, breeding interests have forced me to let him stay at the breeding farm rather than in the trailer.
I run Nick without a tiedown or a curb chain and I have total control thanks to his great mind and him being trained and broke the proper way.
His oldest colts are two this year and showing they have what it takes. All of his babies have alot of chrome and good minds. We are looking forward to these colts as they will be in the hands of some of the best futurity trainers in the world......
