Congratulations to Lindsay Sears and the ever thrilling Sugar Moon Express "Martha" for winning the 2008 Gold Buckle. What an awesome duo these two are! After the 10th round Lindsay's family had a dinner for her which was wonderful and very full of emotions. We were getting teased for hugging each other one minute, crying together the next, and then laughing....It was one of the most gratifying times ever to see one of my best friends accomplish what she and Martha did!On to the booth... my expectations were far surpassed. The RFD Channel will come to the house after the first of the year to film commercials and do a segment on Nick! I donated a breeding to the Prorodeo League of Women/Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund in which they have a luncheon, style show, and live auction in Vegas during the rodeo. That breeding went for $3,250.00 to Michael and Paula Gaughn who own the South Point Hotel and Casino. They will breed one of their great mares in hopes of getting their granddaughter a nice barrel horse. Several magazines have approached us to do a few articles on Nick, so I will update you on which ones and when they will come out. Terra Bynum acquired another Nick baby during the WNFR as well as WNFR bull dogger Curtis Cassidy. These two babies should be going to west Texas and Canada after the new year. Also congratulations to Robbie Bacon  from King City, California on her purchase of As Good As Gone(name pending), a 2008 bay colt out of Nick and an Dash For Cash/Go Man Go mare. I am sad to see this colt go as he was the one I was going to keep and the only colt I had left until the mamas start foaling; however, he will have a great opportunity to succeed with the Bacon's. Headed To Las Vegas!
The booth is on it's way to Las Vegas. Nick's booth will be located at The Sands Expo and convention center booth number 1670. Dr. Prowse, my self, and my Mom Cindy Gayle will be available to visit or answer any questions. Lindsay Sears will also be appearing to sign autographs. The saddles are awesome!!! If you have bred to Nick since I have owned him or purchase a 2009 breeding before or on December 14, 2008 you will be entered in a chance to win one of saddles! At the other "big" barrel race that is going on at the same time as the WNFR is the World Championship Barrel Futurity at Oklahoma City and I would like to wish my Mom, Cindy Gayle and Dena Kirkpatrick the best of luck as they have two colts in the juvenile and one in the $100,000 superstakes that we all own together so it's neat to finally see these two babies  being able to compete! I also want to wish luck upon Lindsay, how fun it will be to watch her and Martha in Las Vegas! Have you seen how the TOP 15 barrel racers in the world horses are bred? BOOTH UPDATE
We have been assigned our booth number which is 1670 at the Sands Expo and convention hall. As Good As Nick Gets has teamed up with PBR bullrider Tony Mendes and Holly Hayworth. Tony and Holly who are great friends have established TEAM PINK which  is an organization that raises money for the Susan G. Kormen breast cancer research. They have a booth that goes to PBR events and Prorodeos.Their booth offers autographs from PBR and rodeos best athletes as well as wonderful raffle items. Team pink will have a booth at this years WPRA world finals held in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Team Pink will raffle off an auction to Nick! Please visit their website it is great www.trymendes.com!

SADDLES, BOOTH, AND MORE...
Sugar Moon Express aka "Martha" has been named the 2008 AQHA Barrel Racing horse of the year! Lindsay and Martha truly deserve this award as they have had a fairy tale year! We will  have an As Good As Nick Gets booth this year at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo located at the The Sands Expo at the Cowboy Christmas convention. Dr. lee Prowse, whom breeds Nick will be on hand to visit or answer any questions as well as my mom Cindy Gayle, my self, and Lindsay Sears will sign autographs and have her new saddle line on display! We will award SIX FULLY TOOLED OSTRICH SEAT SADDLES to anyone who has purchased a breeding to Nick since I have owned him or to anyone who purchases a 2009 breeding before Dec. 14th, 2008. Your name will go into a drawing for one of these awesome saddles! We hope to see you there and look forward to visiting with everyone.

EXCITING NEWS.....
Cheyenne Kelly from Hallettsville, Texas has purchased the 2008 colt Nicks Dashin Flirt (pending). The fifteen year old  has been involved in barrel racing for a few years now and is greatly progressing, as she has already accomplished many goals and will continue to do so.Cheyenne bought Flirt when he was six months old and has halter broke him all herself without any assistance. I am very excited about this little team as I have raised the colt and Cheyenne  has become a special friend. NFR qualifier and futurity standout Lisa Ogden of Gail, Texas has purchased Slicky Nicky (pending). This is a 2008 filly out of Nick and an own daughter of One Slick One. I am very thrilled for Lisa to have this filly as she is the person who found the dam of this colt. I had been looking for a One Slick One broodmare who had a proven record and Lisa knew of her and secondly Lisa has been very successful with the One Slick One bloodline and we are excited to see the outcome of this cross. On the update of Dena's clinic, we have had to reschedule for a different date as Dena had to go to Australia for four clinics. I will let you know when these are scheduled. Nick Comes Home!!!
Breeding season is officially over and Nick came home last week to start getting ready to run.Thank you to everyone for a great breeding season. The 2009 foal crop should be amazing as some of the greatest mares in the barrel racing industry are expecting Nick babies.  Congratulations to Lindsay Sears as she has successfully bred Martha's mother, Baby Blue Jeans to Nick. The baby will be a 3/4 sibling to Martha .DJ Nick Bar is just weeks away from returning to the rodeo scene as he had injuries all of this year. Thanks to Dr. Hays he should be better than ever! All of Nick's older colts have been sold; however, we have a great selection of weanlings for sale.Wishing everyone a Happy Fourth of July!!!

DENA KIRKPATRICK BARREL RACING CLINIC
The legendary barrel horse trainer Dena Kirkpatrick will be having a barrel racing clinic this summer in South Texas. Dena has trained such greats such as Willy Nick bar, Sugar Moon Express, DJ Nick Bar, As Good As Nick Gets, Scratchy Nick Bar, Sheza Shawnee Bug, and Lady Perks, etc. Dena has trained multiple NFR Qualifiers, NHSRA State and National Champions and NIRA National Champions, and Champion Futurity Horses. The clinic will be a two day clinic limited to 20 students. The dates and location will be posted soon. NICK BABIES HITTING THE GROUND.....

The babies are hitting the ground and they are very special . Color, comformation, disposition, and Uniformity from all types of bred mares. It doesn't matter what color the mare is or how she is bred, the colts are carrying strong characteristics of Nick such as pretty heads, big shoulders, short back,  low set hocks, and lots of color and chrome. This Nicks For You: my two year old out of an own daughter of On A High is currently being broke and doing great as we are excited about his future. Congratulations to WNFR qualifier Terra Bynum on her purchase of A Waspy Nick, a yearling out of Nick and own daughter of Coup De Kas. We have a nice selection of colts for sale and there will be pictures of them up within the next few days.

Sugar Moon Express aka "Martha" and Lindz were truly amazing at this year's NFR! Lindz and the awesome sorrel mare walked away from the Thomas and Mack with five go round wins and $119,254.00....

Nick's got a baby on the way!

Congrats to Grant Little of Canada, his standout mare LADY PERKS has a AS GOOD AS NICK GETS baby coming this spring via embryo transfer.
